Eleven Hours of Driving Just to Help – Daily Stuff that God Likes.

I had a good but long drive to southwest Kansas – eleven hours of driving.  That’s 22 hours round trip.  At the hotel I stayed at in a town called Hesston, the young lady at the check in desk had been trying to go to a Culinary Art School in Houston but had to drop out because of costs and expenses, and I shared with her that there was one in Omaha and found the website and gave it to her – she was so grateful and excited to check it out since Omaha is only six hours from Hesston.

On Wednesday I preached and ministered at this small rural church.  There were seven people there, but I preached like there was 700.  They have been going through a difficult time and their pastor just recently resigned and decided to start another local church.  This town of 1500 already has 17 churches.  I wish we could all just get along.  Someone had stolen some of the churches decorations that were in a storage unit, so I gave them a check to replace those items.  I felt like lots of bad stuff was happening and so I was looking for ways to bless and encourage.

Silent Night, Holy Night, in Summer, plus Heart Warming “God” Stories

This past Saturday I received an email note from the parents of a 61/2 year old boy.  I did not recall meeting the parents, but they shared with me that after several miscarriages, and a variety of unsuccessful fertility treatments, they had given up hope of ever having children.  But now they were writing asking me to pray for their son who battles allergies, and of course I am delighted to pray for the child.  What I did not know and later learned in the same email was that this couple attended a healing service I led over seven years ago, where I simply prayed over them and shared that they would have a child within one year, and just prior to that one year period, they had their son, who is now 61/2.  Isn’t that a great story?  Doesn’t it just warm your heart to know God still moves and talks and heals and gives life, and joy in the midst of sorrow, pain and suffering?   We serve an incredible God.

Free Offer plus – “Downloads from Heaven” has arrived

Scripture for you:  Proverbs 4:20-26

Quote:  “Vision is a destination, a fixed point to which we focus all effort.  Strategy is an adaptable path to get us where we want to go.”

If you are interested I have a teaching CD called “Avoiding Pathetic Pathology”, based on Proverbs 4:20-26.  Verse 26 says to ponder the path of your feet, so I took five words with the word “path” in them and shared a message about that concept from that passage in Proverbs.  And as I often jokingly share, you don’t have to be pathetic to request it, just let me know that it is for someone else who seems to be on a pathetic path. (smile).  The suggested donation is $5.00.

My book has arrived from the publisher and I am thrilled to announce to you that nearly 50 copies have already sold – and I am getting orders in the mail every day.  It is called “Downloads from Heaven” and I believe it will promote more Kingdom mindedness regarding the spiritual gift of “Words of Knowledge” along with an awareness that God still speaks today.

Jason’s CD “Running Free” has also arrived and you will appreciate the amount of time and work that Jason put into it to make a standard of excellence that will surely bring Glory to the Lord, while promoting new worship songs in your heart and mine.

Both the worship CD and the book are listed for a suggested donation of $15 each.  If you are interested in having either one of them, please let me know by sending me an email to anointed2go@cox.net and I will get back in touch with you as to the mailing specifics and costs for handling and postage.

(note – if you request both the worship album and the book, I will send you the teaching CD on Avoiding Pathetic Pathology for free just to say thank you)  This offer is good for the entire month of September, 2012.

Another cool thing that happened today is that the blog has over 5000 hits from 36 different countries.  If you have found the articles helpful, inspiring or encouraging, would you consider recommending the blog to some of your friends.  People often ask me what they can do to help the ministry besides praying, and I always answer, please refer me to someone or recommend me to a pastor or leader.  So by sending the blog address of www.anointed2go.com to someone you know, you will be doing that very thing.  I do value your prayers too – they are so important and I am in the process of developing a ministry prayer team.

Thank you for  being a part of this ministry.  I hope to connect with you soon.  Feel free to email me your prayer requests or leave them at the bottom of the page and we will be praying for you for sure.

Sincerely and Warmly,

Pastor Jay W. West

Jay’s New Book – “Downloads from Heaven” – References & a Surprise!

References

Encouragement, Biblical teaching, true-life stories, and mind-set challenges are all involved in Jay West’s book, Downloads from Heaven.  I love Jay’s conversational style of writing that should draw in every reader.  It can be a strange concept to some to think that we, mere humans, could actually hear from God and receive His direction, instructions, and knowledge.  Yet, Jay makes a clear case that the Bible does teach exactly that truth and that each follower of Christ can experience a word of knowledge from the Holy Spirit as a regular part of life.

Don’t Abort the Vision, the Promise, or the Action

A very good friend of mine in Los Angeles sent me an email this morning – her name is Pia Hugo and she gave me permission to repost what she wrote to me here on the blog.  I believe it will benefit others who read it.  I was blessed to minister with her to over 400 public high school students this past Spring in the Los Angeles area and she refers to some of that in her post, but basically, her response is to a number of vicious attacks we have been experiencing financially, health wise and relationship wise – it seems that the enemy is very mad and upset over the release of my new book this week called “Downloads from Heaven”, along with our commitment to reaching 1000 people for Jesus this year and our strong commitment to see more and more people healed by the power of God. And coupled with that is Jason’s new worship album released called “Running Free.” So with that in mind and without sharing further details on how the various attacks are manifesting in our lives, let me cut and paste Pia’s email below – I pray it is helpful to others that read it and/or perhaps it is something that you may want to refer to a friend who is experiencing similar trials and difficult situations.

Hello Brother Jay!

Since receiving this email yesterday, I have been in distress over you and I have been praying for you and asking the Lord to reveal to me what is happening. This morning, as I was doing my devotionals, this quote from Rick Joyner’s book, “The Harvest” jumped out at me:

“It is an age-old tactic of the enemy to try to devour what God is bringing forth while it is still in its infancy. We see this in Revelation 12:16, as the dragon waited for the woman to give birth so that he might devour the child. We see this principle with the birth of Moses and Satan’s attempt to destroy the deliverer by destroying the male infants of Israel. This was a prophetic parallel of his strategy to destroy the infant Jesus in the same way. We also see this in his attempt to destroy any coming last-day ministry…”
