What an amazing time ministering to the Ignite Student Ministry again this week at Eagle’s Nest Worship Center in Omaha. They started with worship and then moved to a game in which I have attached a couple of crazy pictures and you would think that after all of that excitement that they might be too wound up to listen, but it was especially enjoyable as the students started sharing testimonies, one after another and I was so blessed because it was going to fit in so well with the second part of my message called Just Do It.
I had taught the previous week that the I stood for Initiative and that taking the initiative and stepping out in faith while ministering to others would then open up new doors for those people to experience the Kingdom and have a Kingdom encounter of their own. Then last night as the testimonies slowed down a bit, I got up and shared two pretty amazing student testimonies and taught about Rev. 19:10 where it says that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. And I had one of my assistants for the evening a young lady whose name is Brandi and whose picture is shared here as well help me with an example and then I offered prayer ministry and 15 young students asked for prayer to get tight and right with God and then everyone came forward for prayer ministry. After each student had been prayed for they were in turn invited to go and pray with someone else too – because the bible says that freely you have receive and freely you can give. God was moving in so many lives of those who attended that evening. It was really special.
So just do it refers to I = Initiative and T = Testimony –
Today I started writing on my third book and actually completed the writing of two chapters, so I am excited to see this much progress so early. The plan is for this to be a three volume series on encountering God’s Kingdom, but each book will be written and published separately having about 8 to 10 chapters per book. I would appreciate your prayers as I work on this project.
In between the writing and almost every day I am meeting with a business leader or marketplace ministers to share and encourage them and pray for them in the work that they are doing.
This is a very slow month for me financially so prayers are appreciated in that realm too.I have lots of youth speaking engagements but nothing on a Sunday or a weekend which is really unusual. And I really do mean very slow, but God has been faithful and some have given surprise donations so that has been a wonderful blessing. My schedule picks up again in the middle of September, but these several weeks are kind of tough without the income that has normally been there. We trust God just like you for so much and believe for the best for us and for all of you, our dear friends. Thank you for standing with us in prayer.
Jason began his junior year of college at Grace University this week as well. He seems to be enjoying it and continues to serve in leadership roles on campus. His new roommate is nice and while he is taking 17 hours again this semester, it looks like a great schedule overall.
We continue to shop for another car, but are finding it a challenge in a number of ways including the uncertainty of consistent income. We do appreciate all of the prayers for Diane’s health and healing and she is doing much better. I found some car pictures on the Internet so I put one of them here above just for fun. I am really looking for a small to medium sized SUV and not one as big as the one pictured.
Be sure to leave me any prayer requests that you might have. I will be delighted to pray for you next week. And of course your comments are always appreciated too.
