Feeding First Responders – Honor – Celebration – Blessing!

20151025_192337_HDRJust over a month ago we celebrated our one year anniversary for Kingdom Encounters.  It was a glorious time as people and friends from around the city came to worship, pray, listen to our mentor, overseer and friend Pastor Jim Hart from Eagle’s Nest Worship Center in Omaha, and ultimately have a Kingdom Encounter.  I am so grateful for all that the Lord has provided for us in our new church plant, and how He has challenged us to reach our community, our neighboring businesses, and political realms, plus higher education communities with a culture of honor and revival.  We are thrilled with what the Lord is doing in our midst.  God has blessed us in so many ways and we are working hard to disciple others and help all who visit to have a Kingdom Encounter that lasts a life time.  We are located at 8594 Frederick St in Omaha and begin each Sunday morning at 10:10 a.m.  This is a new way not to do church, where everyone gets to play and we welcome the supernatural.  We are an Oasis of Joy!

FS 30Three months ago we launched a new ministry with the permission of the Omaha Fire Department as we adopted a local fire station to feed them a great lunch on the first Sunday of each month.  The Battalion Chief asked us to offer this service for two months and then the city would evaluate and respond, and they gave us an overwhelming thumbs up to continue this process. In fact they have asked us to adopt a second station starting in January.

FS Cookie Prep 1We decided to do something nice for all 24 stations in our city, so our small congregation of 50 people took fresh baked cookies to all 24 stations the week prior to Thanksgiving and visited, prayed with the crews, took pictures and enjoyed fellowship with them as we thanked them and extended honor to them for serving our city, especially over a holiday when everyone wants to be home with family.

20151011_123616_HDROur new building is beautiful in every way, but does not have a kitchen at all.  We do have a refrigerator and two microwaves, and some tables, but lack many things that a normal kitchen would have.  We have secured permission from our landlord to add a kitchen and I have been to the permits section for the city to see what we can build with their specifications, but we need finances amounting to around $5000 to build this kitchen including a sink, warming ovens, preparation space, and storage space, plus more refrigeration.    Putting in a sink alone requires digging through the concrete from the restrooms and providing water and drainage.

Why do we need a kitchen?  So that we can cook and keep food warm as we continue to expand this outreach to our first responders.  My personal goal would be to see every fire station in town receive a hot meal the first Sunday of every month and eventually with other churches networking with us, we could easily feed all 24 stations every Sunday of the year.  And this is not the only outreach we do as we have many other outreaches happening to families, businesses, rest-homes and neighborhoods.

20151025_182904_HDRI am asking you to consider helping us financially with this task.  Would you be willing to make a one time tax deductible donation to help us build a kitchen that we can use to prepare food for our fire fighters.  We also plan to feed our snow plow drivers and expand to other city services ultimately making a difference in other people too.

20151124_104124_HDRPrior to Thanksgiving I was blessed to meet our Lt. Governor of the state of Nebraska and then also deliver some cookies and other gifts to the Mayor of Omaha and our County Treasurer (Pictured to the left with his bag of fresh baked cookies).  A few weeks prior I also met and spent quality time with General Don Bacon who was the base commander for Offutt Air Force Base and is now running for Congress.  This base is strategic to our country and was the place that President Bush landed on 9/11. These doors and others open because of your prayers and the favor of God in our lives.

If you are willing to give this tax deductible gift, please contact me on Facebook or send me a personal email to my address anointed2go@cox.net and I will share how you can provide assistance.    Thank you so much for your consideration in helping us cultivating honor in our city and providing opportunities for us to minister to so many who put their lives on the line for all of us.  Your financial assistance will help us continue the process of honor and thanksgiving all through the year.

FS 60 aI assure you that your donations will only go towards the process of building a kitchen and feeding our first responders.  For every gift of $50 or more I am willing to give you one of my books below as a thank you for your generous donation.   Thank you!

Dream about President Obama

Since moving to Omaha, Nebraska just over 14 years ago, I have begun to have presidential dreams and have previously had several including JFK, Carter, Bush 41, Clinton, and Bush 43, and this if my first of President Obama.  If you have comments about this dream please share them, but please be honoring and respectful in your responses or I won’t post them. I ask this because the bible says we are to give honor and respect to those in authority.  The JFK dream can also be found here on my blog as well. Day 12 of Omaha HUB Revival – Go Again!

HUB 12

I will add current pictures to this post on Saturday, but wanted to give an update –

First, while attendance on Thursday was a little less than most of the other meetings, it surged again this evening.  There were many young adults and college age students along with some high school students and children.  One of the healings from the night before was a young lady – I believe she was 13 and had a metal plate fused in her back since she was seven, and could not bend or touch her toes, but suddenly Continue reading

Children Prophesy @ Omaha Revival plus Governor’s Invitation

Hub 101Revival was amazing tonight – It started very different in that the large contingency of students were encouraged to go to their own youth groups, so the meeting started small, but many people drifted in and we ended up having a large group.  There were a number of college students from various colleges, including Grace University that our son Jason attends and almost all of them were healed of something including partially deaf ears and a previously shattered elbow that straightened out and arthritis – yes arthritis in a student Continue reading

Running Free

“If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed… I’d you look within, you may be depressed… If you look to Jesus, you’ll be at rest!” – so come out for an evening of worship, songs, worship, songs, festive refreshments and fellowship – with fellow worship leader and recording artist Kyle Knapp – “And rest…………. in His presence.”

For many months, our son Jason worked hard on his new worship album called, “Running Free” and has twelve original worship songs combined with a few other themes, so I thought I would share some of the details.

When Jason was two days old on his first night home, he slept on my chest while I was on the couch giving Diane a restful night’s sleep in our bedroom.  So he wrote a song about that called “Safe in your Arms” which speaks about that first night leading into riding on my shoulders and transitions to someday when Jason has his own children, and they are our grandchildren – but the song also, specifically pinpoints the Father’s love for us.  I know you will enjoy it.

Free Offer plus – “Downloads from Heaven” has arrived

Scripture for you:  Proverbs 4:20-26

Quote:  “Vision is a destination, a fixed point to which we focus all effort.  Strategy is an adaptable path to get us where we want to go.”

If you are interested I have a teaching CD called “Avoiding Pathetic Pathology”, based on Proverbs 4:20-26.  Verse 26 says to ponder the path of your feet, so I took five words with the word “path” in them and shared a message about that concept from that passage in Proverbs.  And as I often jokingly share, you don’t have to be pathetic to request it, just let me know that it is for someone else who seems to be on a pathetic path. (smile).  The suggested donation is $5.00.

My book has arrived from the publisher and I am thrilled to announce to you that nearly 50 copies have already sold – and I am getting orders in the mail every day.  It is called “Downloads from Heaven” and I believe it will promote more Kingdom mindedness regarding the spiritual gift of “Words of Knowledge” along with an awareness that God still speaks today.

Jason’s CD “Running Free” has also arrived and you will appreciate the amount of time and work that Jason put into it to make a standard of excellence that will surely bring Glory to the Lord, while promoting new worship songs in your heart and mine.

Both the worship CD and the book are listed for a suggested donation of $15 each.  If you are interested in having either one of them, please let me know by sending me an email to anointed2go@cox.net and I will get back in touch with you as to the mailing specifics and costs for handling and postage.

(note – if you request both the worship album and the book, I will send you the teaching CD on Avoiding Pathetic Pathology for free just to say thank you)  This offer is good for the entire month of September, 2012.

Another cool thing that happened today is that the blog has over 5000 hits from 36 different countries.  If you have found the articles helpful, inspiring or encouraging, would you consider recommending the blog to some of your friends.  People often ask me what they can do to help the ministry besides praying, and I always answer, please refer me to someone or recommend me to a pastor or leader.  So by sending the blog address of www.anointed2go.com to someone you know, you will be doing that very thing.  I do value your prayers too – they are so important and I am in the process of developing a ministry prayer team.

Thank you for  being a part of this ministry.  I hope to connect with you soon.  Feel free to email me your prayer requests or leave them at the bottom of the page and we will be praying for you for sure.

Sincerely and Warmly,

Pastor Jay W. West

Challenging the Fears that Fearfully Challenge Us!

Challenging the Fears that Fearfully Challenge Us” is actually the title of one of my top selling teaching CD’s along with  “Avoiding Pathetic Pathology” and “Waiting on God.”Most people don’t want to be labeled Pathetic, and I know that few Believers enjoy waiting on God, and of course, we all battle fears that fearfully challenge us.

One of my fears use to be going over large bridges.  If you want to order my teaching CD to hear the whole story from start to finish, on how God delivered me from this nine year fear, please contact me at anointed2go@cox.net and I can let you know how to secure the CD.  But this picture above was taken from the car I was joyfully riding in earlier this year while going over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA.

One of the scriptures in that message is from 2 Corinthians 7:5-6 which reads like this

“For indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had nor rest, but we were troubled on every side.  Outside were conflicts and inside were fears.  Nevertheless, God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus.”

Let me unpack this just a bit.  Paul was saying that at one point their bodies had no rest – in other words, they were dead dog-tired.  When I am tired, I normally ache all over.  My feet hurt and my back hurts, and my teeth and my hair hurt.  Okay, not really, but it seems like that, and if I can just get a power nap – just 15 minutes, I know I will feel great.  I recently heard a friend say that his son is from Ineedanappa!  I thought it was cool.  There are times when we all need a nappa.  Even the Apostle Paul.

Not only was Paul tired, but also he was experiencing trouble wherever he looked.  All around him was trouble and it was on every side.  And on the outside were conflicts and on the inside were fears.  This is the great Apostle Paul who has known and seen the power of God working in his life many times, yet he is just being honest.  It was a tough season for him.

Right now as I write this, I kind of feel like Paul.  I am tired.  Not physically tired, but more emotionally tired at battling so much physical pain.  Right now, I have pain in ten different parts of my body.  And I just hate complaining, so I won’t go there, but  I am reporting as a matter of prayer, but also to stress a few points.   We need to walk by faith even when we don’t feel like it.

It is so weird for me to pray for so many people around the city, nation and yes the world and to have seen over 7000 people get well of incredible ailments, life threatening diseases and major physical problems and then for healing to take so long to manifest in my personal body.  I’ve been healed by God on several occasions, yet each one seemed to take so very long – including IBS which took three years, in which pain was my number one symptom, and I would literally wake myself up crying as the pain was so intense, and then skin cancer which took five years and neck and shoulder pain which took 26 years.  Can you believe it?  Yet in all three cases, it was God who healed me, not modern day medicine.

Since going to print with my book, it seems like lots of other things are also going wrong.  My wife did not find a teaching job yet, and my speaking engagements dropped significantly this month so our income has dropped by 80%.  Can you believe it?  And in the last few weeks, it seems like more personal conflict has arisen then in the previous several years.

But there is Great NEWS!  Did you see that word, “Nevertheless” in the Corinthian passage?  The word means, Never Settle for anything less than God.  Let me repeat that.  Never Settle for anything less than God.  So in the midst of physical pain, and lack of income and people getting mad at me, I am changing. I am like the red light that spoke to the green light and said, “Don’t Look, I’m Changing.”  I am being transformed.  It is a good thing.  God is at work in my life.

There is a part of me that does not want you to see what is happening to me, because no one likes to look pathetic.  But I have been transparent here and shared some of what is going on, yet I know that God is transforming me.  How do I know this?  Well, for one thing, I have peace.  I know God is in control.  I may not see everything He is doing, but I believe He is working behind the scenes on my behalf.  That’s called faith.  And I am trusting Him to show me what to do next, and how to respond to my current situation.  I refuse to settle for anything less than God.

As I often say, Trust is a Must.

I frequently tell people if they are going through hell, don’t stopDon’t get a motel or a condo there, but keep on going, because it is not what we are going through that matters or counts, but it is what we are going to that matters.  I am not minimizing our situation or yours, but the reality is what we are experiencing is setting us up for the next adventure with God.  This is preparation time.  This is a season of getting ready.  We go through things because we are going to something.  The steps of the righteous are ordered of the Lord.

There was a line in the movie “Facing the Giants” that I especially like.  The coach was challenging the team that if we win, we will praise the Lord and if we lose, we will praise the Lord.  So regardless of what I am experiencing, I choose this day to praise the Lord, and never to settle for anything less then God.  I encourage you to do the same!

Nevertheless, God!

This week, my wife and I will meet with the young lady whose face was beaten worse than many homicide victims to see how we can assist her in her new ministry to families that suffer from domestic abuse, and we are networking with local businesses and churches to provide some of the items that she may need.  If you want to help, please let me know.  Please keep Heather in prayer.
